Is Fitness Over 40 Easy?

It seems pretty hard to be fit over 40, doesn’t it?

Well, I could tell you about people like Kelly Nelson and Morjoie Newlin, two female bodybuilders. They’re not your typical bodybuilders. Kelly Nelson first began training with weights in the early 1980’s at age 53 and was still competing in the 21st century in her late 70’s…in a bikini…and lookin’ good if I may say so! Morjorie Newlin was in HER 70’s before a 50 pound bag of cat litter convinced her that if she didn’t do something, old age was going to be a difficult time. That’s when she began a fitness training program that included weightlifting. Morjorie Newlin was participating in

Air Force Boot Camps

Air force boot camps are basic military training courses for air force recruits that are conducted at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Here the trainees are instructed in discipline, ethics, courtesies, dress code, drills, physical fitness, use of equipment and survival tactics in warfare. It extends for a period of six weeks and the last week is called as the Warrior Week, which involves combat training.

Air force boot camps are supposed to be less physically strenuous than the military and the marine boot camps. In these boot camps the emphasis is more on playing on the mindset of the trainees rather than on physical dexterity. They are also less formal, which allow the trainees to

The air force training instructors often play mind games with their trainees in order to make them stronger for decision taking situations in future. They do not flinch in calling their trainees names and reprimanding them even if they have seemingly done a good job.

Pull Ups: Max Gains in 3 Weeks

Everyone is always asking how do I do more pull-ups?

I always laugh because it isn t really a secret, the Army has had the answer for years.

When I attended the United States Army Airborne School in 1993 one of the requirements is that you needed to complete at least five pull-ups. Back then my my max in pull-ups was about eight so I had no problem doing the minimum. When I left Jump School I could Max out at 20 pull-ups after only three weeks!!

To improve your pull-ups you need to do pull-ups three times a day every day. You can t expect to go to the gym three times a week and

Elliptical Trainers Are Not A Replacement For Everything

Elliptical trainers are something like having your cake and eating it too, but not quite. An elliptical trainer will give you a good aerobic workout if you exercise at sufficient intensity for sufficient duration for your particular physical condition. An elliptical will help build muscle endurance, which is something different than muscle strength, but just as important for athletic training. One often touted benefit of an elliptical trainer is that the workout is load-bearing while easy on your joints at the same time. Because you exercise in a standing position that is true so far as it goes, but it’s not the whole truth.
